It has been so much fun reliving this incredible wedding day through these photos. I hope that you all can feel the love that Georgi and J.R. share as you look through them. It was magnetic, contagious, and it made some of my favorite shot yet. It was a true honor to document such a memorable, perfect celebration.

“John Roger and I met early Sophomore year at Ole Miss in 2015. We were actually at a pool party on Labor Day, and were introduced by mutual friends. I thought he was incredibly cute. He invited my friends and I over that evening to grill out, and I forced them to come with me. We began hanging out and never stopped!” – Georgi

“We always joke about the fact that neither of us were very interested in a relationship when we met… we both had every intention of remaining single. God had other plans, and I think we knew we found something special right away. We talked constantly and wanted to spend all of our time together. Eventually, there was no question that we were going to be together for good.” – Georgi

“Funny story… the afternoon of the day John Roger proposed, we were sitting on the back porch. To my understanding, we were attending a dinner for the company he works for that evening. I was begging him to tell me if he had plans to propose any time soon. After nearly 6 years together, I was beyond ready to be married! Little did I know that the ‘work dinner’ was just a cover up. He told me we were going to Grit in Taylor. We parked and began walking down the path towards the middle of Taylor Square. I saw a small table with champagne and a photo, and genuinely thought we had walked into someone else’s proposal! John Roger stopped me and pointed out that it was US in the picture, and I lost it from there. He proposed, and informed me that all of our friends and family were waiting for us to celebrate inside Lost Dog coffee shop. It was such a fun night and he completely surprised me.” – Georgi

“Having our wedding in Oxford made it very special for us. This is home, where we met, and have lived since 2014. Having so many family and friends travel to this place we love made it that much better. Additionally, we have attended The Orchard Oxford together since we began dating. We have always enjoyed listening to the lead pastor, Eric. We loved having him perform our ceremony and having him play a role in our special day.” – John Roger

“I wanted something classic and timeless, that I would still love in 50 years. I have always loved light blue, and knew I wanted to incorporate it throughout our wedding.” – Georgi

“Mackenzie with Taylor Square Photography was truly incredible! She was so fun and made taking pictures natural and easy. Ashley with Twisted Twig florals was also amazing. She brought my vision to life with little questions asked! Our band, Emerald Empire, was a blast and honored every request both of us had. We definitely danced the night away.” – Georgi

“I was surprised at how low stress the entire day really was! My mom, bridesmaids and I stayed at Castle Hill Friday night—so waking up there made Saturday morning a breeze! I was so excited to finally marry my best friend that nothing else really mattered. We were also both shocked at how quickly the reception flew by, and how exhausted we were after!” – Georgi

“After John Roger and I had been dating for only 9 months, we had the brilliant idea to get a golden retriever puppy together—Bentley. He has become such a huge part of our lives, and our relationship. I was thrilled that he was able to be in some of our wedding photos.” – Georgi

“For my something old and borrowed, I was thrilled to wear my mother’s wedding dress at our rehearsal. There was a lot of ‘something blue,’ but my wedding day shoes were my favorite! Lastly, my something new was my own wedding gown. And not necessarily a tradition—but all of the boutonnières were blue Scottish thistle, to honor John Rogers late grandfather, Boompa.” – Georgi

“I think the best advice I received was ‘the worst thing that can happen is that the groom doesn’t show up!’ This really put it all into perspective for me. I knew we were both ready to marry each other, so if a small detail was incorrect on the big day—so be it!” – Georgi

“My advice to upcoming brides would be to try to relax and enjoy your company on the big day. All the vendors do this every weekend—so put your trust in them! Recognize how many people came to celebrate with you, and soak it all in.” – Georgi
