Beautiful Exchange of Vows at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis

We had the pleasure of spending the entire weekend with Sara and Brad’s lovely families. You could tell by some of the speeches that were delivered Friday night that they have such a lovely connection with each other and their loves ones. We had such a great time working with you all. It was a beautiful weekend.

“Brad and I met in college while attending Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. I can actually remember the first time I laid eyes on him freshman year (I don’t think he can say the same). We formed a friendship sophomore year, but it took us a while to realize how compatible we really were. We didn’t start dating until the second semester of our senior year!” – Sara

“The proposal was very sweet and so captures who Brad is as a husband. We took a trip to the place we met, Greenville, South Carolina, in the fall of 2020. We spent the day wandering around Greenville where he re-creating some of our first dates. He then took me to this beautiful park with a waterfall in downtown Greenville where he asked me to marry him. He told me he planned the day years ago and he was so happy to finally see it come to fruition.” – Sara

“Just after I said yes to Brad’s proposal and we celebrated together for a moment, he asked me “So, did you hear the TSA agent?” Apparently when we were going through airport security while en route to Greenville, the TSA agent saw the ring in x-ray carry on bag scanner, yelled “I know your secret” several times for everyone in security to hear, and wanted to know details of the upcoming proposal. Thankfully, I was distracted at that moment because I had been randomly selected for additional screening, so I had no idea. It was funny to me how much he had been thinking about that woman potentially blowing his cover leading up to our engagement.” – Sara

“What surprised me the most about the way my wedding played out was just how relaxing the day was leading up to the ceremony! I was really able to enjoy the morning getting ready with my Bridesmaids. I also loved getting ready in my childhood home – it felt so comfortable and it was so special putting my wedding dress on in the place I grew up.” – Sara

“The best advice I received as a bride was to just really enjoy the engagement. There were times towards the end where I was so ready to get on with the wedding and be married, but the build-up to your wedding is really unlike any other time.” – Sara

“The wedding was so special because we knew everyone was making a sacrifice to be there with the current COVID climate. We were so thankful for everyone who came!” – Sara

“All of our vendors were so amazing. I can’t imagine working with anyone else if I were to do it all over again.” – Sara

“I love greenery and contemporary design. We gave Kevin a few photos and ideas and what he created was spectacular.  We really wanted to add contemporary flairs to our classic wedding venue (particularly with the cake!)” – Sara

Mona Dunlap Events and Le Fleur created a stunning entrance into the ballroom.

“We asked the music coordinator for the ceremony to have a soloist sing Elvis’s “Stand by Me” which was so beautiful to hear. Growing up my grandparents loved to play Elvis gospel music. I love the song and I’ll forever associate it with my wedding.” – Sara

My advice to future brides would be to take planning in strides and take breaks. My husband and I would commit three or four days to wedding planning and then not think about it for a while.” – Sara
