This wedding was such a special one! Katelyn and Tucker’s families were amazing. You could sense a true undercurrent of kindness and love. It made the weekend and the shots we captured so much more special. Our team is so thankful to be part of such a beautiful weekend. We hope you treasure these as much as we do, Katelyn and Tucker! It was a fairy tale!
Ann-Marie
“Tucker and I met in the spring of 2017 through mutual friends in Memphis, TN while he was in law school at University of Memphis, and I was working as a physical therapy technician at Semmes Murphey Clinic while I was applying for physical therapy school. After we first met, I remember thinking how sweet and funny he was and how he had a really cute dog (Thank goodness for Caddy – Tucker Osborne). We only saw each other one other time that spring when hanging out with friends watching the march madness tournament.” – Katelyn
“Tucker and I had not seen each other since the second time we ever hung out with friends back in the spring of 2017. We reconnected in February 2018 when he messaged me on Facebook congratulating me on getting into physical therapy school at University of Alabama at Birmingham which is coincidentally where he was from. He was so kind giving me his phone number telling me to text him if I ever needed any advice or had any questions about Birmingham (Smooth, right? – Tucker Osborne). I texted him that day thanking him, and we caught up on how our lives have been the last year since we had seen each other. After that day, we kept in touch through snapchat and random texts here and there saying how we needed to hangout and catch up in person but with our busy schedules neither of us really followed through. At the end of April, we finally made a plan to grab a beer at Slider Inn in Cooper Young and that is when our close friendship truly started to develop. After that, Tucker and I would hang out every so often, shared long phone calls about our life, our relationship with God, and asking each other for advice. We formed a wonderful friendship without the intention or realization that it would lead to us dating one month later. I started having feelings for him when we road tripped to Birmingham because we both had weddings in the same weekend, and I got to meet his mom and stepdad at breakfast and went to church with his dad and stepmom. After that I truly realized how incredible of a person Tucker is and that I would never find another guy who would treat me as well and who loved the Lord as he did. I was too nervous to share my feelings because I was worried I would scare him off but little did I know he was feeling something too. We started dating on June 10, 2018 after we went to the St. Jude Classic golf tournament with one of my close friends from Mississippi State who came in town, his close friend from Auburn and a bunch of his Memphis law school friends. He met my family that evening, and my mom loved him so much she invited him on our family beach trip without realizing we had literally started dating that day. And the rest was history!” – Katelyn
“We both knew about six months after we started dating we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together but with me being in physical therapy school we did not rush into an engagement and continued to enjoy dating. Tucker proposed to me on December 27, 2019 when he came to Memphis on Christmas day to visit me and my family for the weekend and it was a complete surprise. I always thought he would propose the next May, so he did a great job with totally throwing me for a loop. He had my best friend Ashton help him with the proposal that day which threw me off even more. The day he proposed, we went downtown that afternoon to Harbor Town to meet up with Ashton for a drink at the Terrace, but it was closed for a private event, so I said let’s just go to Tugs across the street. Little did I know what was about to happen, but Tucker remained calm (I was not calm – Tucker Osborne) with the slight change of plans. After we had a few drinks, Ashton suggested we go take a picture outside with the Mississippi River and Memphis “M” bridge in the background. Tucker took a picture of Ashton and I and then Ashton said she would take a picture of Tucker and I. After the first picture Tucker grabbed my hand, told me he loved me, and got down on one knee to propose. I was in complete shock that it took me a minute to realize what was actually happening. After he proposed, we drove back to my parents’ house where Tucker and our families had thrown a surprise party. It was such a wonderful day that I will never forget. Harbor Town and downtown Memphis have been a big part of our relationship because that is where he lived during law school, and I have grown up spending so much time downtown because of my dad working downtown so it was very special that he proposed in Harbor Town in front of the Memphis bridge and Mississippi River.” – Katelyn
“We just did the standard wedding traditions for our wedding! For my something old and borrowed I wore my great grandmother’s engagement and wedding ring on my right ring finger which was very special to me because my middle name was named after her maiden name. My something new were my shoes and earrings, and my something blue was my garter. My close family friend was my proxy bride during the rehearsal so I kept the southern tradition of walking down the aisle for the first time with my dad on my wedding day which was really special.” – Katelyn
“My advice to future brides would be try not to stress about the planning especially the schedule on your wedding day and always remember the bigger picture of the wedding day which is marrying your best friend. The day really does go by so fast and the best thing I did was to really soak in that time spent getting ready with my bridesmaids, taking pictures, every moment of our ceremony, and making sure we both had fun at the reception. Also don’t stress out as much as I did about tripping down the aisle or walking up the stairs onto the church stage haha because your dad and future husband aren’t going to let you fall.” – Katelyn
“Everything about our wedding day was so smooth and carefree. We did not have any hiccups in the plans and Tucker and I, as well as our families did not have to worry about anything that day.” – Katelyn
“Our wedding was special because we had all of our family and friends who came to Memphis from all over to celebrate us. We had a ton of out-of-town guests so Tucker and I, as well as our families decided to make it a whole weekend celebration for our family and friends. A group of my parents’ best friends that I have known my entire life threw Tucker and I an “I Do BBQ” that Thursday night at the Rendezvous which really kicked off the wedding weekend. We continued the weekend celebration with our beautiful rehearsal dinner and a post toast party following the dinner Friday night at Loflin Yard with all our friends with great music and an awesome slide show of pictures Tucker put together. We got married in my childhood church Grace Evangelical Church in Germantown and had our reception at The Columns downtown continuing our downtown wedding celebration. The Columns not only holds a special place in my heart because it is at the bottom of the office building my dad works in so I grew up running around in that large empty room with my brother and sister as kids, but it also holds a special place in my family’s hearts because back when it was a working bank my dad, grandmother, and great grandmother all banked there.” – Katelyn
“I want to brag on all of our vendors because our wedding weekend would not have been as amazing as it was without them. My wedding planner Mona and I as well as my mom got to know each other so well over the year and a half of planning our wedding that I had full trust in her and always asked her opinion on things I was having a hard time picturing or could not decide on for the wedding. My photographer Ann-Marie was so amazing at not only capturing our wedding weekend, but her lighthearted, hilarious personality and comforting presence kept me calm on our wedding day and really allowed me to enjoy the time between getting ready and the ceremony (Ann-Marie really made me feel comfortable and enjoy the pictures process – Tucker Osborne). Matthew Lynn with Lynn Productions did an incredible job capturing live moments of our weekend making it so special. Deedra Stone who did my flowers did an outstanding job especially because I only knew what colors I wanted so I just gave her some pictures I liked and she created the most beautiful arrangements I have seen. Our caterer Elizabeth Heiskell made the most amazing food and our wedding cake by Cakes by Mom and Me was so beautiful! All our vendors did such an incredible job at making our wedding so beautiful and enjoyable!” – Katelyn
“Honestly, I am not good at design and seeing the big picture of a bunch of small individual things and knowing if it all looks good together, so I really did not have much of a wedding design in mind – only pictures I had printed off of Pinterest. I really just knew what I wanted for the color of the bridesmaid dresses, the cake style, the color of the flowers, and that I wanted it to be more of a classic, timeless style wedding. My mom joked with me throughout the entire wedding planning process about how easy of a bride I was because it didn’t take me long at all to make decisions and if I did not really know what I wanted I would just turn to my mom and my wedding planner Mona Dunlap and say, ‘honestly whatever y’all think looks pretty!’ The most fun I had with our reception design was picking out all of the furniture and lighting from White Door Events, which I had to do via facetime with my mom and Mona along with the rest of the wedding planning during this spring/summer because I was in Birmingham and Dothan, AL for my physical therapy school clinicals until the week before our wedding. My wedding planner along with all the other vendors created a wedding and reception that was beyond what my brain could ever imagine.” – Katelyn
“Right after the ceremony Tucker and I changed into fun sneakers, I had on white sparkly P448 sneakers and he had on black and white Jordan’s (Retro 11 Low Barons – Tucker Osborne) that matched his tux, to wear for our first dance and the reception and that was such a fun little moment we had planned and it also made walking around and dancing at the reception much more comfortable!” – Katelyn
“The best advice I received as a bride was to really sit back and try to enjoy every moment of the wedding weekend because it goes by so fast. I was also told to make sure you have a cut off time at the reception where you stop talking to people and go dance and actually enjoy the reception. Tucker and I did that and it was the best thing we did because we were able to really have fun and enjoy everything we had planned the last year and a half with all of our friends and family.” – Katelyn
