Effortlessly Romantic Southern Summer Wedding

I knew of Tori from our time as Delta Gammas at Ole Miss several years ago, so when she asked us to shoot her wedding I was very excited. My excitement only grew after spending some time with Tori and Josh at their engagement session. It’s beautiful to see their friendship shine through in their romantic relationship. They just truly have so much fun together and spend the majority of their time laughing. It was such an honor to capture their love once again at their wedding. It was the most perfect day, for two people that are perfect for each other.

“I definitely grew up wondering what the details of my wedding would look like! What my groom would be like, what my dress would look like, etc. I could have never dreamed of how perfect it actually would be, though!” – Tori

“My dad and I were going to do a first look, but he didn’t know I was in my parents’ room at the time reading a letter Josh wrote me and barreled in! We just kinda shrugged and said, ‘Well…guess this is the first look now!’ It made me relax a little and showed me that just because something might not go as planned, doesn’t mean it doesn’t go ‘right’.” – Tori

“Josh and I grew up in the same small town, so we knew of each other. He’s four years older, so we didn’t go to high school together, though. He moved back home from serving in the Air Force in 2017, and I from Nashville the following year. We hung out with our mutual friends all the time!” – Tori

“We actually were friends first, which we both think adds a sweet layer to our relationship. We very naturally moved from that to dating when we noticed we never wanted to be apart. If our friends were doing a movie or game night, we would gravitate towards each other. He’s the most fun person to be around, and I knew I wanted that in my future husband.” – Tori

“I know now that Josh talked to my parents about proposing RIGHT before Covid hit. His original plan was to propose then go into a big party with our friends and family, but the pandemic made that hard. His thought was to wait it out a few weeks (because in March 2020 we were all optimistic about the timeline), but then months went by with no break. Finally, he decided to change course and propose at the church I grew up in with just our immediate families and a few close friends. It was sweeter than I could have dreamed!” – Tori

“I think one thing that made our wedding so special was the amount of friends and family that had a hand in making it happen. Most of our vendors are long time family friends or family, which meant so much to us.” – Tori

“‘Timeless and simple elegance’ were the themes we kept reiterating. I told everyone that I wanted to be able to look back at the pictures in 30 years and still be able to say our design was beautiful and stylish.” – Tori

“I could write a book about all our vendors! Seriously, I will always look back at the people who made our day happen with such gratitude. I recommend them to everyone!” – Tori

“I heard it a thousand times, so I shouldn’t have been surprised, but it was still shocking how quickly it went by. I loved every second, though.” – Tori

“My mom saved a lot of special items from my childhood to incorporate in. She gave my baptism handkerchief to Josh to use day of and got it monogrammed. Also, we actually did away with the garter/bouquet toss tradition. Neither of us really wanted to do one. Instead, we celebrated my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary this year by having them dance to ‘How Sweet it is’ by James Taylor when we would have typically done those tosses.” – Tori

“The best advice I received as a bride was to roll with the punches because there will be bumps in the road. You’ll be so much happier to find ways to enjoy the hiccups and make them special in their own ways.” – Tori

“My advice to future brides would be to eat a meal with just you and your spouse before you go into the reception!! Be alone together, eat some of your yummy reception food, and just breathe for a bit.” – Tori
