Janeanna and Landon’s engagement session was so fun that I just knew the wedding would be an amazing day. Thankfully, we had gorgeous weather and the entire day shot so beautifully. We are super thankful that we were able to shoot this wedding for them. Hope you enjoy this preview!

“Landon and I were set up by another couple who are two of our best friends. They told Landon to come to Jackson for the Fourth of July weekend to meet me. I had no idea we were being set up at the time but eventually figured it out and was happy that our friends knew we would be such a good match. It’s funny because we went to college together, have several mutual friends, and were even part of the same wedding party for a previous wedding, but we didn’t meet until years later. We laugh about it now and both agree that God’s timing is perfect and we met exactly when we were supposed to.” – Janeanna

“Landon and I have always dated long distance. The first time he came back to see me after we met, he was my date to a huge wedding in my hometown. He met my mother and about 100 other friends and was the perfect date all weekend. I knew if he could survive that, then he was pretty serious about dating me, and we have been together since then!” – Janeanna

“Both of our families had planned to go to Oxford for a weekend to spend time together. Our parents had never met each other so we were so excited to get together with everyone. He took me to The Grove and proposed there, and one of his sweet sisters took pictures (while hiding behind a tree in the rain!). I thought we were going to dinner after, but he took me back to the house where our families and several friends were waiting to surprise me! It was a perfect engagement weekend.” – Janeanna

“I honestly had never thought much about my wedding until I met Landon. Once we started talking about what our wedding would be like, we knew we wanted it to be a big celebration with family and friends that mean so much to us.” – Janeanna

“Landon and I were both lucky enough to know our grandparents on both sides of our family. They were not all able to be at the wedding but we wanted to incorporate them as much as possible to show how much they mean to us. I loved displaying pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days for people to see at the sign-in table as they entered. I also had my grandmother’s brooch attached to my bouquet and Landon had a handkerchief that he kept in his tux embroidered with a phrase his grandmother used to say. They were small but significant touches added to our day that reminded us of our family.” – Janeanna

“One of my friends told me to enjoy every second of my wedding day because it is the only time you will have so many friends and family you love together in one place. That is so true and Landon and I both were so grateful to have so many of our people together to celebrate with us! It made our marriage celebration even more meaningful.” – Janeanna

“Our entire relationship has been long distance. I was finishing my pediatrics residency in Jackson, Mississippi and he was working in Athens, Georgia when we met. Dating long distance is no joke! It has made us really appreciate the time we get to spend together and I think it also made us appreciate the time we had with family and friends throughout our wedding weekend even more.” – Janeanna

“Ann Marie at Details Rentals was basically my second wedding planner! I had some vague ideas of what I wanted my wedding to look like, but she really helped bring it all to life. She went over every detail with me to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted, and had so many fun ideas and suggestions. She coordinated with my florist and caterer to make sure everything was perfectly planned and definitely helped me with other aspects of the wedding day that were not a part of the rentals process. I could not have done it without her!” – Janeanna

“Because we dated long distance, we had several friends from Athens and Jackson that had never had the chance to meet. It was so special to get to see some of the people we love from both places get to know each other and travel to Oxford to celebrate with us. We also knew we would get married on May 22nd no matter what, but planning a wedding during COVID times leads to a lot of uncertainty about what that day will look like. I think this made us even more thankful to be able to have family and friends gather together safely after so much time apart.” – Janeanna

“My advice for other brides would be to relax and enjoy your day! Planning for a wedding can be stressful and there is always something that won’t go exactly as planned. Take some time on your wedding day to slow down and appreciate all of the people who love you and have gathered together to celebrate you and your groom.” – Janeanna
