It’s hard to really know what to expect when you walk into a wedding day. There are so many variables- the venue, the couple, the weather, etc. This wedding was truly a photographer’s dream. We got to get really creative with our venue, while also working with the most incredible bride and groom. Allison and Mark share a love that many only ever dream of. They encouraged us to execute our vision with ease, and it was a day that I will always cherish.

Thank you, Allison and Mark, for allowing us to be a part of such a magical day. Witnessing the union of this couple and their families was such an incredible thing. These photos are some of our favorites!

“A friend of mine also knew Mark. I was at lunch with her, and she mentioned him. I was skeptical, but because Mark is ‘Googleable,’ I was able to listen to a couple of interviews with him and decided he sounded down to earth, nice, and funny.” – Allison

“We exchanged a couple of texts, and then, the same day, we met for dinner at Banh Thai in Midtown. We both felt an immediate connection and instantly began dating exclusively.” – Allison

“Mark was in New York for work in January and asked me if I would come up for one night to go out to dinner with friends. At the same time, he was preparing to travel for a book tour and trying to find the right hotel and the right spot for the proposal, and in all the chaos, he forgot to buy me a plane ticket! The afternoon before the trip, we realized the mistake and scrambled to get me up there. As soon as I arrived, we went for a walk in Central Park. We sat down on a bench, and Mark proposed right then and there.” – Allison

“My 11-year-old son, Kemmons, walked me down the aisle and gave me away. Mark’s 15-year-old nephew, Kyle, was the best man. My daughter Ava, 16, sang two songs during the ceremony, and my daughter Sophie, age 12, announced us as married for the first time.” – Allison

“We didn’t have a rehearsal (with a bridal party of over 20, we just didn’t have time), and the string quartet was never told that our daughter would be singing a couple of songs during the ceremony. It turned into a musical duel between Ava and the quartet for a moment, but it all ended up fine.” – Allison

“Although it was during a pandemic, and friends and family came in from all over the country, no one got sick! It was also at my parents’ home, where I grew up, and it is a beautiful 100-year-old estate in Central Gardens.” – Allison

“Our wedding coordinator, Warner Moore, made everything perfect and effortless for us. Just Call L.H. catering was also terrific, as was Buster’s Liquors and River Oaks.” – Allison

“We were surprised that absolutely everything went off without a hitch. With an outdoor event during COVID, all went perfectly, and we were even able to stop and enjoy the evening.” – Allison

“Never settle for anything less than marrying your best friend.” – Allison

“Very special thank you to Taylor Square Photography for seeing our vision for the pictures and being so easy and great to work with. We felt safe in their hands, and we also felt we made new friends in the process.” – Allison
