“This day is finally real, and I’m not playing dress up this time!”, Elizabeth said to her mom and sister as they buttoned her dress.  Her mom proceeded to tell that she, like every little girl, had dreamed of this day for a very long time.  “She loved weddings so much, we had her a wedding birthday party!”

On Saturday, February 4, 2017 Elizabeth Gibson’s dreams came true when she and Robert Margeson were married at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Elizabeth’s classic taste was showcased in a beautiful church ceremony complete with stunning arrangements of white and pale pink flowers from the Garden District.

The reception at the Memphis Country Club married a cozy, cabin feel with classic, elegant touches. Wedding planner, Mona Dunlap, and event designer, White Door Events, put together a functional, relaxing space for guests to visit and chat, lounging on sofas draped in furry throws. Throughout the reception hall, guests could spy rustic touches like antlers and ski gear. The wintry, ski theme was inspired by the couple’s own love story, and snowy photographs of Elizabeth and Robert added a personal touch. The groom’s cake was created by Cakes by Mom and Me of West Memphis, Arkansas. The cake was a showstopper with a working ski lift on the snowy cake mountaintop. For a few fun touches, the couple offered a sushi bar and hot dogs. Infinity Band of Memphis kept the guests entertained all night.

Elizabeth’s bridal party wore light, neutral gowns in a grayish beige shade with crisscross necklines. The groom and his men wore striking, classic black tuxedos. Elizabeth’s timeless, slightly off-shoulder style gown from Maggie Louise Bridal featured a lacy back and neckline and a twirly, full skirt. Her stunning bridal makeup complemented her classic, lacy veil.

In this winter wonderland wedding, classic, neutral color palettes and timeless decorations created an experience one will never forget. The perfect marriage of traditions and trends, this special day was perfect for such a sweet couple.
