Mackenzie with Taylor Square was amazing. This was something John Michael was not looking forward to, he wasn’t sure he would enjoy taking all the pictures. Mackenzie made him so comfortable from the engagement pictures and it got him excited about all our pictures at the wedding! Q: Do I need an engagement session?
I encourage couples to invest in an engagement session for a few reasons
- We connect. An engagement session provides an opportunity for us to build a relationship with each other before your wedding day. You can relax behind the lens, so when wedding day comes, all that’s left is your excitement.
- We invest in your story. We believe there’s power in documenting your story chapter-by-chapter. Unless you plan on building a family, engagement portraits are some of the only casual, intimate portraits you’ll have with your spouse.
- We have the gift of time. Often, when we move at a gentler pace, true magic happens. We aren’t bound to a wedding day agenda.
Q: Do you shoot every wedding as the lead photographer?
I created Taylor Square in 2012. For seven years, I worked full-time while crafting my studio, team, and vision into what they are today.
While I once shot every Taylor Square wedding, I now shoot a thoughtful collection of couples each year. Associate photographers shoot, too. My staff are trained to work under my methods, and carry the same spirit of joy and appreciation for people that I do.

Q: How many hours do you shoot at a wedding?
Our goal is to tell your story well. I shoot up to 12 hours, working with you to craft a photography timeline that encompasses your day from start to finish.
Q: Do you travel?
Absolutely. We celebrate love stories across the globe.
Q: What is your shooting style like?
Our portraits blend the reverence of photojournalism with the artistry of editorial photography. We emulate film for a story as timeless and sophisticated as you are. Roughly 70% of our photos are in color, while 30% are in black and white.
Q: When should I expect to receive my photos?
We strive to deliver your photos in 4-6 weeks, but in the busier months it could take up to 8. We also send previews in two weeks.
Q: Should I order an album?
Printed portraits give voice to your story for generations, and they bring color to life. Most packages receive a handcrafted album, designed in-house, as part of choosing our team.

Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?
We curate and edit several hundred portraits for your wedding album. Instead of delivering every image, the portraits we deliver tell the stories you’ll cherish most.
Q: Does your studio provide videography services?
Taylor Square Photography Co. does not offer videography services, but we have several preferred vendors we’re happy to recommend.
