Classic Meets Colorful: Thomas & Kamren’s Annesdale Mansion Wedding

August 6th was a date I had been excited for all year. This was Thomas and Kamren’s wedding day- a day at my very favorite venue with an incredibly stunning couple. After shooting Kamren and Thomas’ engagement photos a few months prior, I knew that their good-looks and undeniable chemistry were going to help create some of my favorite wedding photos yet, and I was right. Kamren’s diverse color palette and incredible team of vendors helped bring to life one of the most stunning wedding receptions I’ve ever seen.

I hope that you all enjoy this feature. It was a perfect day.

“I met Thomas during my first year of dental school. I had always seen him around campus and thought he was cute, but we never really had a proper moment of actually meeting one another until my neighbor introduced us one day in the dental lab! We hit it off the first night we were out with one another! That turned into a first date which turned into many dates thereafter! We spent a lot of time together even in the midst of the craziness and stress of being a dental student.” – Kamren

“I met Kamren through the same mutual friend. He told me, ‘she thinks you’re cute.’ I was immediately intrigued, just had to muster up the courage to ask her out.” – Thomas

“We both ended up at the same Halloween party, which was across the street from my house.  A friend had told me that Thomas was the only person not in costume at the party, and that he needed something to wear! I found an old shark costume and took it over and he wore it the whole night. I was dressed as a cat. It was a great night and one we will never forget!” – Kamren

“I immediately knew when I wanted to propose when the football schedule came out a year earlier.  My beloved Hogs were playing Kam’s Rebels in Oxford, and that was a perfect excuse for my family to be in town. There was no way she thought I would get engaged in Oxford, Mississippi. I asked for her parents’ permission two months earlier and began planning with her sisters. I thought I had this fool proof plan to ask Kamren to marry me on the Square the Friday before the game, but I didn’t realize how challenging it would become.  I arrived at my original spot on the balcony of City Grocery fifteen minutes early, only to be beaten by an angry Rebel family. Time to audible. After going to multiple other locations, I finally decided to head to the Graduate rooftop, which is the first place Kam ever brought me on the Square.  Kam’s sisters were assuring me that I still had plenty of time. We got to the rooftop and secured our spot, it was perfect. No one was there except my small group of friends and family.  Now all we needed was Kam. Thirty minutes pass, still no Kam. An hour passes, and the rooftop is starting to fill up, and I was getting nervous that I would have to propose in front of a large audience; even a news crew appeared, maybe we could do this on live TV, I thought.  We convinced random people to stay away from our reserved area, letting them know what was about to happen. Kamren, two hours later, finally shows up. I say what I had always planned (I think). She says yes and we embrace to a loud applause and random people’s cell phones fixed on us.” – Thomas

“Being the youngest of three girls, I definitely had my fair share of playing pretend weddings! I have dreamed of this day for quite some time now, and I’m so happy that everything played out perfectly and that I got to marry the man of my dreams.” – Kamren

“The weather was actually cooler than your typical Memphis heat August day. We were so appreciative that the Lord was looking out for us since part of our day was semi-outside! We couldn’t believe how smoothly the day went by, and we could not have done that without our team of vendors! Seeing all of the planning you’ve done leading up to the actual day come to fruition was unforgettable! Our wedding day truly exceeded all of my expectations! It will always be the happiest and very best day of my entire life!” – Kamren

“I wore a sapphire ring on my right hand that once belonged to my grandmother as my something blue. She is such a strong and courageous woman that has endured many hardships in her 86 years, so being able to have her in attendance to my wedding, and getting to wear something that originally belonged to her was so very special! I got to wear my sister’s veil that she wore on her wedding day which was very sweet. I wore my mom’s pearl earrings as the final touch to my wedding look. Thomas and I were honored to use the cake knife and silver goblets that his parents used at their own wedding! Something fun and unique that we incorporated was that our guests got to sign a traditional Chinese red silk cloth upon their arrival to our reception. These are typical at Chinese wedding receptions and each member of my family that has gotten married has one from their own wedding! It’s very cool to be able to see how many common guests we have had even dating back to my grandparent’s wedding!” – Kamren

“It is so special and surreal being able to have all of your family and friends, from all different phases of life, together in one place. Being able to marry my best friend in front of all of my loved ones is obviously something I will never forget. Thomas and I have been through so much together in our five years with one another. We have grown and matured individually and as a couple. I’m so happy and privileged that I was able to make sacred vows to him in the presence of our friends and family, and I’m even more blessed to be able to walk through the rest of my life with him by my side.” – Kamren

“Thomas and I spent months training our dog, Otis, to walk down the aisle. We got him groomed the day before our wedding specifically for this moment. We even taught my nephews how to lure him down the aisle with treats.  We may or may not have given him his calming aid a little too early in the day, because Otis only made it down the aisle 3 pews before having to be rescued from his shining moment.” – Kamren

“I truly cannot say enough about all of our vendors! Every single detail at our wedding was so carefully thought out and designed and was brought to life by such an amazing team!! Deedra Stone is a floral designing goddess!! We absolutely loved working and designing with her! She was so much fun to be around, and she made all of my flower dreams come true! Blade from CFY Catering ensured our every need was met before and on our actual wedding day. I can’t thank Mackenzie Rue and Taylor Square Photography enough for capturing our day so effortlessly. She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement pictures and that made us even more familiar with her on our actual wedding day. And Audrey Hurst absolutely made my wedding vision dreams become reality. Everything about our wedding day flowed so seamlessly. She genuinely cared about every wedding detail that we were trying to achieve. We did not have a worry in the world on our day!” – Kamren

“I wanted to procure a classic and timeless wedding celebration with hints of a fun garden party. I think our vendors did an amazing job at making that vision come to life. We wanted the night to be a fun and memorable night for all of our guests!” – Kamren

“My mom spent hours choreographing our entire father-daughter dance, and my dad and I did not execute a single eight count of what she had planned for us! The entire dance we kept telling each other how angry she probably was at us for not performing her dance moves!” – Kamren

“The best advice I received as a bride was to take a step back and be able to embrace and enjoy each moment because the day goes by so quickly and you only get to do this once!” – Kamren

“Make sure you take a minute to enjoy the small moments. Saying your vows and the big dance party that follows are all so memorable and special, but make sure to take a second to appreciate the quiet and still moments throughout the day too because those are equally sweet moments that you get to cherish forever! Appreciate the moments because the day goes by so quickly. It is the best day of your life.” – Kamren
