Amy and Johnny’s wedding reflected their personalities so perfectly. I knew when we shot their engagement session at their farm in the rural delta, that Amy would bring such a touch of class with a western feel. Everything was so beautiful right down to her pristine white boots!
We are so excited about how their wedding day shot at the Jefferson! Amy and Johnny, we are so thankful to be a part of this special day that included friends and family all over. Enjoy!
“Growing up, my family would spend Christmas in Eagle River, Wisconsin at Eagle Waters Resort. My family has shared a lot of special moments there, and Johnny knew it would mean the world to me to be engaged surrounded by family. Johnny, me and the kids flew to Wisconsin and met my family at the resort. That evening, sounded by family, Johnny proposed. The resort restaurant decorated the back room just for them! It was gorgeous — Christmas trees and a sleigh.” – Amy
“We met in Memphis one night. A few weeks later, we went on our first lunch date. Neither one of us ever looked back! Our love for farming and our families is a quality that we share.” – Amy
“Johnny and I had two different dreams. I wanted a local wedding with a big party. Johnny wanted a destination wedding with a small ceremony and a big party. With COVID-19 and traveling, we decided to get married in Mississippi with a private ceremony and big party! It was exactly what we wanted!” – Amy
“When people say it flies by, it really does. Soak up every minute. Find a spot in the reception where no one is standing. Just take a moment and soak in everything you worked hard planning for!” – Amy
“I wore my mothers necklace, and my late grandfather, Sam Unzicker’s watch. I also had her late grandmother, Willa Sue Yordy’s pendant attached to my Bouquet. Also attached to my bouquet was Johnny’s great-great-great-grandmother’s wedding ring. We also shared photos of their late grandparents on the guest book table. Bremer Jewelry from Peoria, Illinois was gracious enough to provide fabulous earrings for me and a gorgeous necklace for my mom.” – Amy
“Johnny loves me because I’m smart, independent, driven and good to his kids. I love Johnny because he loves me, respects me and balances me out. He’s such a hard worker and an amazing dad.” – Amy
“I wanted it to be ‘us.’ I knew I wanted a clean, classic look and a dress that described me. I wanted grasses, greens and flowers all in one. David from Oxford Floral nailed my look as I couldn’t find inspo for what I really wanted. I’m all about being different and I feel I incorporated several different styles into one. The Jefferson provided us with a rustic/farm feel which is important as we both grew up farming and still do to this day.” – Amy
“All of our vendors did amazing! Rebecca Rivers, Emily Cohen and Kasey Acuff made myself and the wedding party beautiful. Angie and Nick with A&N spoiled us with their food all weekend. The Mustache Band was a huge hit, of course. Amanda from The Jefferson was just overall amazing to work with. David from Oxford Floral nailed my vision and I truly felt he put his heart and soul into my wedding. Details were prompt in setting up everything! Lou Toole made the most amazing wedding cake! Taylor Square and Featherstone were exceptional to work with. Lastly, Nikkei Gradoville, Angie Crawford and Tammey Durham were the most exceptional wedding planners! I also want to thank Winne Couture for helping me create the most perfect and unique wedding dress that showcased my personality! Miriam Shufelt painted the most gorgeous picture of Johnny and I in our first dance. The ole miss symphony trio played the most beautiful music.” – Amy
Everyone always says, I’m the woman, the myth, the legend that settled Johnny Mac down! Ha!
We had folks travel from 9 different states to celebrate with us! We just appreciate everyone who showed up for us. We have so many people that love, encourage and support us.
“We wanted our ceremony to be God-based even though we weren’t getting married in the church. Brother Jon from Marks Baptist church was able to provide that for us.” – Amy
“Waking into Jefferson and walking down the aisle. I was so excited to get down the aisle to my husband and officially seal the deal. The Ole Miss trio played my favorite song while I walked down a beautiful isle.” – Amy
“Before we got engaged, we knew exactly the band we wanted — The Mustache Band! I bought neon, light-up cowboy hats for Johnny and I! A unique option was having Miriam paint Johnny and I’s first dance. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to showcase it in our home. We also had a bourbon and bacon station right next to the dance floor instead of a groom’s cake. Johnny doesn’t like cake but he likes bourbon. Guests could get a whiskey drink and a piece of delicious candy bacon from A&N! The bacon was a HUGE hit!” – Amy
