Hannah and Austin first met at a Fall themed party (hosted by Hannah’s friend, Whitney, and her roommates) around a fire pit. They had seen each other previously at church, but had never struck up a conversation, a regrettable circumstance which Austin had hoped to correct. The party provided the perfect opportunity, helped along by some great wingmanship from Austin’s friend Drew. A conversation was had, and Austin soon asked Hannah out on a dinner date for the following weekend.
A month later, after a double date which included a spontaneous trip to The House of Mews in Midtown (prompted by Hannah’s friend Kimberly, who got her arm temporarily stuck in the mail slot while petting a cat), Austin felt inspired to ask Hannah to be his girlfriend. She agreed.
Over time, Austin fell in love with Hannah’s strong Christian faith, her joyfulness, her caring nature, and the way that she indulges his nerdy side (they have recently finished the Star Wars original trilogy and will soon be moving on to the prequels). Hannah fell in love with Austin because of the way that he continually pursues her, the way that he loves the Lord, and his sense of humor.
On the anniversary of the day they met, Austin proposed to Hannah in Whitney’s backyard. He recreated and embellishing the scene in which they met with a fire pit, a spread of food from restaurants they had been to on memorable dates, some wine, and flowers.Â
Hannah and Austin love to spend time together hiking, cooking, trying new restaurants, playing games, and spending time with friends.
“Having all our family and friends together is what made our wedding so special! We are thankful to everyone who traveled to be with us on this special day.
Another special part of the wedding day was having my 4 nieces as flower girls and 2 nephews as ring bearers. I was especially proud of my niece, Evie, who has spina bifida. She uses a walker to get around and for the rehearsal we were going to see how she did and if she would be able to/ want to walk down a long aisle. She walked down the whole aisle smiling the whole way with her 2 older sisters on either side. She did such a wonderful job and it warmed my heart seeing her so happy and walking (something the doctors thought she wouldn’t be able to do when she was born). Austin and I love being aunt and uncle to these 6, soon to be 7 little ones.” – Hannah
“We got engaged last October. With it being the middle of a pandemic we were not sure how things would be with COVID during the spring or what our wedding would look like. We were told that even though your wedding may look different because of COVID restrictions you are still going to get married to the one you love. You are making vows to each other and starting a life together. That is something worth celebrating!” – Hannah
