Ann-Mitz & Stirling | Colorfully Romantic Ole Miss Castle Hill Wedding

Ann-Mitz and Stirling’s wedding was full of so many beautiful details and pops of color. Their friend group (as you will see in the photos) includes fun personalities that made the day fly by with lots of laughter and good times. I cannot wait to share this wedding with you! They are such a sweet, cute couple. They were literally giddy with excitement all day long. It photographed like a dream.

“Since I can remember I have thought about getting married. I never really planned out “the perfect wedding” but I always knew that I wanted to wear a ballgown wedding dress. One of my favorite memories was dressing as a fairytale bride on Halloween as a little girl.” –Ann-Mitz

“Stirling and a couple of my good girlfriends were all very close. Junior year they had several classes together so when the girls would hangout Stirling would also come around (we lived two doors down from each other in Highland Square). Stirling and I actually had our first date with my future maid of honor tagging along at the University Club. After our first few dates Stirling and I became very close and when he left to study abroad in Scotland we decided to wait and see where things were once he got back.  But things evolved quickly and he was in Scotland for only a few weeks before we decided we wanted to begin a real relationship.” -Ann-Mitz

“Stirling had made plans for us to go to opening baseball weekend in Oxford to watch Ole Miss. It was a cold rainy weekend and I wasn’t thrilled about going to Oxford to watch baseball. Little did I know he had planned for all of our family and friends to be in Oxford. Stirling asked me to go to Square Books with him to look for a Fixer Upper coffee table book. (he loves Chip & Joanna Gaines)  While we were there he suggested that we go outside and look at the square from the balcony since the rain had stopped. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. He didn’t pull out the ring until after I had said “I do” (his dad’s advice). From Square Books we walked to Bacchus and I was in complete shock when I saw my whole family standing there! I was in such shock and so happy from the all excitement of the proposal and surprise party I burst into tears! “ – Ann-Mitz

Ann-Mitz purchased her whimsical Enzoani wedding gown at Posh Bridal Couture in Nashville, Tennessee. Her bridal veil is Rivini.

“I had envisioned a wedding that was elegant and magical. Emerald green was the springboard for inspiration.  It was such a blessing that my mother was able to devote time, energy and creativity into making my dream become a reality.  The wedding process has extra meaning because she was the wedding planner. She invested a lot, not only, in the visual design but in the musical selections for the ceremony.  We had a string quartet, trumpet and organ. So many people commented on how much meaning the music added to our ceremony.” –Ann-Mitz

“One of my favorite things about our wedding is that we incorporated a lot of family traditions and heirlooms. I used my maternal grandmother’s hanger from her wedding dress. I wore my other grandmother’s diamond and ruby ring, my great grandmother’s diamond bracelet and my mom’s pearl earrings. Three generations of women all got to walk down the aisle with me.” – Ann-Mitz

“We used my great grandparents’ 107 year old wedding candle and my maternal grandparents’ wedding cake topper which is over 60 years old.” -Ann-Mitz

Most girls want to pick out their gown – first thing.  For me, it was securing the best band ever and that is Al Paris and The Heartbreakers!  Al was so easy to work with leading up to the wedding but Al, his daughter and the whole band  rocked it the night of the reception. “CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES – COME ON!” is the still the perfect theme song for Al who used to be in Kool and The Gang.” -Ann-Mitz

“We drank out of the Nuremberg Wedding Cup. It’s a family tradition on Stirling’s side of the family. The cup has two sides to drink from and the bride and groom drink from it simultaneously. Whoever finishes first is considered to be the dominant one in the relationship.” – Ann-Mitz

“The best piece of marital advice that I have received so far is from my dad. For one of our wedding gifts he gave Stirling and me my great grandmothers dinner bell. The history behind the celtic bell is that if at any point an argument occurs either person can ring the bell to immediately end the fight with having to admit they are wrong. Once the bell has been rung the argument is dropped. “ –Ann-Mitz

Ann-Mitz and Stirling, thank you so much for inviting us into your lives to experience such a special day! You guys are going to have such a sweet marriage together. We wish you many blessings and happiness! – Ann-Marie & Sophie
