A Striking Wedding Celebration at the Peabody Memphis

When Maggie first contacted me about shooting her wedding I was so honored to work with a fellow artist. Her sculpture work is absolutely stunning and I knew for sure that I wanted to deliver some creative images for her and Walter to cherish for a lifetime.

You can tell from being around them for just a short time that their relationship is rock solid and their love and respect for each other runs deep. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with this amazing couple and capture their love for each other, friends, and family. — Ann Marie

“We incorporated several things into our day.  I wore my great grandmother’s earrings that my mother also wore on her wedding day.  We used the same cake knife that my grandparents and parents used.  And we snuck in little mementos of my grandfather wherever we could.  Our rehearsal dinner was in the room my in-laws used for their rehearsal dinner 30 years earlier, and we married in the same church. Our  getaway car was my grandfather’s restored antique – the cherished hobby of his retirement.” — Maggie

“He proposed on the front porch of the house we built together. I thought we were going to dinner with business associates, so I was uncharacteristically on time.  I went outside to await our ride, and suddenly, he was talking about our future together and proposing!  Turns out, we had a beautiful dinner alone to talk about it all, then a lovely party at Walter’s parents house so we could celebrate with our family and friends.  Everything about it was absolutely perfect.” — Maggie

“We’ve been through a lot in 10 years: long-distance, graduations, heartbreaks, and successes. We’ve built houses, and changed neighborhoods. We’ve made friends on our own, and we’ve made friends together. We’ve shared our puppy, Huey. We’ve shared business. And we’ve shared family. Whatever was going on in either of our lives, good or bad, the best things in my life have been shared with Walter. I look forward to sharing his name, sharing a family of our own, and sharing this lifetime with you, Walter Frank.” — Maggie, in a rehearsal dinner speech to Walter

“My friend from growing up, Anna Claire McGinty, did my hair for my wedding weekend. Having my best friend doing my hair was better than I imagined for multiple reasons–the first being that she is extremely talented at styling hair. The second being that spending that time with her leading up to the wedding was time I will always cherish. She was encouraging, and reminded me to be present. The cherry on top being that my bridesmaid was also my glam team doing touch-ups throughout the night!” — Maggie

“Get a good group of people around you to help you, and then try to be flexible and present on the day.  Don’t get too tied to the details and enjoy the love and celebration that is happening all around you.” — Maggie

“Family and friends are what made our wedding so special. I adore Walter’s family, and have since early on in our relationship. Walter’s siblings have felt like my own and treated me as their own for years now, and I feel so beyond grateful to not only have them as friends, but family now also. Walter’s sister was my Maid of Honor, and seeing her become close to all of my friends filled my heart. It reminded me just how lucky I am to gain her as my sister.” — Maggie

“Once you’ve done the dress shopping, the hair and make-up trials, and of course all of the planning, the ‘first look’ was the special moment that everything came to life. Seeing each other for the first time on the day that we’d both looked forward to for so long–that was so special. We were both so happy to be in that moment. We just took it all in, just the two of us, and we felt each other’s abounding love and happiness.” — Maggie

“I am fascinated by his way of thinking. His perspective is different. That’s the coolest thing about him. He sees through a different lens — one that is not easily influenced. I have an impulsive nature to chase good feelings and good times. Walter is never taking the easy way out, he is always taking the RIGHT way out. The hard way. He sees the greater picture. He sees a life bigger than I once saw — one with limitless opportunities.” — Maggie

“It was the happiest day surrounded by our favorite people. The weather was beautiful, spirits were high, and everyone came together to celebrate our love.” — Maggie

“I was surprised by how smoothly the whole day went and how much fun it all was.  Many family members, friends, and vendors came together to make it a wonderful day without hiccups or incidents.” — Maggie

“Work-hard, play-hard. That’s what we’re all about.” — Maggie

“Charlotte Nichols, another childhood friend, was a wonderful wedding coordinator for us.  She is organized and well prepared for any emergency.  Her wedding was lovely, and she helped make mine both lovely and smooth.” — Maggie

“All our vendors were wonderful. Brown Baguette Bakery did an astounding job on the stadium cake, and it got the exact reaction I had hoped. L and Jay Productions took my nebulous flower ideas and brought them to fruition better than I could’ve ever expected. Doris and the University Club made the reception come to life with grace and professionalism.” — Maggie

“At Walter’s cousin’s wedding only two weeks before mine, I’d seen a family friend gathering boys’ ties during the reception. She tied them together to create a massive jump rope that took up the center of the dance floor. It was a really fun and different activity I hadn’t seen at a wedding before. Sure enough Walter’s cousins, Helen and Mary Grace, busted out the jump rope of ties during my wedding reception, and we had a blast. Tons of friends and family were quick to join in the fun.” — Maggie

Ann-Marie and Lindsay were some of the greatest vendors at my wedding. We felt so comfortable and so natural. Their personalities blended in perfectly with everyone and the day.” — Maggie
