Classic Wedding at The Peabody Memphis | Morgan + Nicholas

Kindred spirits, Morgan and Nicholas were nothing short of a privilege to photograph. This was no surprise, considering they come from incredible families — the type of people whose warmth and humor hang around in your memory.

Only a matter of months ago, I photographed Nicholas’s sister’s wedding. It was a pleasure to reunite with the Sims family and add to their family’s visual archive — this time, with Morgan. — Ann-Marie

“Nicholas and I met in college at The University of Tennessee. We are both from Memphis, and had mutual friends in highschool, but somehow our paths never crossed. Freshman year in a Business 101 class, where I was 1 of 4 girls in a class of 40 people, Nicholas introduced himself to me. We later started taking each other to our fraternity and sorority date parties, and the rest is history.” – Morgan

“Nicholas proposed in December of 2020. He had asked if I wanted to eat dinner with his parents later in the week, and at first he said we might go out somewhere, and then he said his mom was just going to cook. A few days before, I was trying to get some more information on what we were doing so that I could dress accordingly. He was all over the place – couldn’t give me an answer on what we were doing. It was decided we would just eat at his parents’ house, so I threw on some Adidas sneakers. I looked a wreck – hadn’t put on makeup that day (which was abnormal at the time), and my hair was less than presentable. I quickly started getting some interesting vibes. I know him like the back of my hand. We get to his parents house and no one is home and the dogs are ‘in the back bedroom’ (which is never the case as they always greet us at the door). We get a drink and go to the outdoor fireplace and I am talking away, and then I turn around and see this man on one knee and flash photography from behind the bushes. I was too stunned to speak – I think he was kneeling for at least a minute before I said yes. I was so surprised, and it was a very special moment with just the two of us. Our families joined us a little while later and we had a big family dinner to celebrate.” – Morgan

“I love playing games, as do all of my friends. I am known for always having card games, board games, etc. wherever I go, so naturally I had to make sure and bring Catch Phrase for us to squeeze in a few rounds while we were getting ready.” – Morgan

“Nicholas and I are complete opposites, and God knew exactly what he was doing when he put us together. Nicholas is the calm to my storm. He is kind, loyal, thoughtful, intelligent, and the best friend I could have ever asked for. He has guided me to become such a better version of myself, and I am so excited to navigate life alongside him.” – Morgan

“My parents were able to throw us a fairy tale wedding, and I cannot express how blessed and how lucky we are to have such amazing parents, and all the sacrifices they have made to help us become the individuals we are today! The wedding was every girl’s dream, and we will forever be grateful for being able to have such a fabulous event to celebrate our marriage.” – Morgan

“I had been a nervous wreck the months, and even the day before, leading up to the wedding. By the grace of God, I woke up the day of the wedding and was at complete peace. We had some issues come up along the course of the day, as every wedding does, but we got through them.  Nicholas was shocked at how relaxed I was as the day went on, considering he was the one who had to witness my anxiety-ridden past few months. As we got closer to the ceremony time, I was ready to get the show on the road and marry my man!” – Morgan

“Pay for all the photography and videography – and book the highly recommended vendors! The events go by so incredibly fast. I will be reliving the day through these photos and videos for the foreseeable future! Ann-Marie, her second shooter Lindsay, and Alex from Dear Little films were with me all day. Sweet Lindsay even had to help me put on my shoes. It was so comforting to be able to just float through the day and know that the Taylor Square team was going to tell me where to stand, who to get pictures with, etc. This is definitely an area of the budget to splurge on!” – Morgan

“Nicholas’ parents threw such a perfect Rehearsal Dinner and Post Toast Party. It was so nice being able to have those extra hours to actually get to talk to people before the blur of the wedding day. Claudia, Nicholas’ mom, worked tirelessly planning for the events and we were so grateful for all that they did.” – Morgan

“I think if I had to choose one moment it would be walking down the aisle on Nicholas’ arm right after we had been announced husband and wife. The day goes by in the blink of an eye, but we really focused and held on to each word when we were saying our vows. We were so happy and excited walking out of the chapel, with our closest friends & family there celebrating us as we passed. That was such a special moment.” – Morgan

“A wedding planner, and especially a day-of wedding coordinator, are an absolute must. Amy Shelby & her assistant Heidi were so helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process and the day-of!” – Morgan

I am a big fan of espresso martinis, so naturally I had to find a way to make sure they were served at our wedding. One thing led to another and we ended up with a Martini bar with three different martini options. It was a very fun addition to the wedding!” – Morgan

Morgan spilled an entire espresso martini all over my white shirt in the elevator, but somehow managed to get all of it out in the hotel sink.” – Nicholas
